Veteran-Led, Evidence-Based Care for Metro Detroit

When looking for a therapist, experience and perspective matter.

My approach is defined by a ‘mission-first’ mentality—a perspective shaped by six years of service in the U.S. Military and over 20 years of clinical practice. I am not here to just listen; I am here to provide the direct, strategic guidance needed to help you overcome life’s most difficult challenges. Whether navigating addiction or processing PTSD, I utilize a high level of specialized care as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and a Certified Trauma Specialist. My goal is to bring the same discipline and dedication I learned in the service to every individual and family I treat in Southfield and Grand Blanc.

I am proud to serve the Southeast Michigan community through my two primary office locations in Southfield and Grand Blanc, providing accessible, expert care to residents across Oakland and Genesee Counties.

A Specialist in Complex Recovery

As a Certified Trauma Specialist and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), I have dedicated my career to understanding the intersections of mental health and addiction.

  • Trauma-Informed Care: I am EMDR trained, Trauma and Loss Certified, and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Veteran Support: I feel a deep privilege in serving the veteran community from Metro Detroit to the Flint area, providing a space where your service and your struggles are understood without explanation.

Innovative Therapy for the Next Generation

I believe that children shouldn’t be forced into a “sit and talk” box. My work extends to the youngest members of our community, from Birmingham and Royal Oak to Fenton and Grand Blanc. I utilize Play Therapy and individualized self-calming methods to help children with autism and anxiety navigate their world with confidence.

Academic & Professional Leadership

My commitment to the field is rooted in a rigorous academic foundation, having earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Michigan. This elite clinical training, combined with my frontline experience, allows me to provide a higher standard of care and mentorship. I have had the privilege of:

Holistic Interventions & Additional Resources

I believe in a “whole-body” approach to mental health. In addition to clinical talk therapy, I incorporate unique, evidence-based interventions:

  • Qigong: A traditional practice combining slow movements, bi-lateral breathing, and meditation to balance “qi” (vital energy). This helps my clients reduce stress, pain, and fatigue while boosting cognitive function.
  • Inner Child Work: Utilizing non-dominant hand art techniques to explore past events and their impact on your current functioning.
  • Helpful Supplies: I invite clients to visit the Self Esteem Shop, where I buy a lot of my supplies: https://selfesteemshop.com/

SAMHSA Supported: My treatments are supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
